How to Peel Your Banana

The scientific name for banana ismusa sapientumwhich means “fruit of the wise men”

So this Friday Freebie is about helping you overcome your conditioned patterns and bad habits by learning some tools on how to start breaking down some of those walls and reactions that we have all grown accustomed to doing when something hits a nerve within us, ‘peeling your banana’ so to speak. Because in it’s complete natural state (with skin) you would not be able to digest nor benefit from all the nutrients, energy and potassium that the good ol’ banana has to offer.

Have you ever wondered why some of us are so competitive, pushy or sometimes even quite aggressive in our behaviour. Self centered and in some extreme cases even narcissistic in nature?

When in reality, the basic principals of life require us to be the complete opposite?

When you become aware of an emotional discomfort, which is often caused when we feel threatened, the pain makes you feel irritable, angry or impatient and your brain reacts by encouraging you to feel as though you must act quickly – more often than not in a self sabotaging sort of way. When in fact, by peeling off and ‘rubbing’ – so to speak – the banana skin on the emotional wounds, you

gain the capacity to finally let go of the negative effect that this specific event has had on you. In other words, by becoming aware and understanding what it is that has affected you and caused you to reach an unhealthy state of mind. By trying to make sense of the reasons behind it you will gain the ability to free yourself from the negativity that it has placed on your life.

Being free of negative thoughts is one way to make room for those positive

thoughts and allowing the positivity to take over and fill your ‘banana’.

To rid yourself of those negative thoughts, I want you to try and consciously catch yourself when a negative thought or emotion is filling up your banana,  I would like you to really make an effort to review those emotions… think those words and with purpose turn them into a positively empowered thought.

At first, this may be frustrating and a tad difficult, we often embrace negative thoughts because these are thought to be the norm, and we have learned to accept them. However, it doesn’t have to be this way and with practice, overtime you will notice that it will start to become very natural to refuse them and swap them for more positive ones.

Amazing but true fun fact:

Thanks to its oil, rubbing the inside of a banana peel on a mosquito bite or other bug bites or even on poison ivy will help keep it from itching and getting inflamed
