Psychological flexibility gives us the ability to adapt to change, it helps us to cope with problems that arise on a day to day basis. In order to allow psychological flexibility to prove beneficial to us we must never avoid problems. It should not matter what problems we face, we must confront them courageously. Avoidance is a detrimental coping mechanism as this encourages issues to build and as a result may cause resentment towards the problem and within ourselves.
